Graphs of Trigonometric Functions

These videos show how to find the properties of a trigonometric function including amplitude, period, phase shift, and vertical shift, and then either graph a trigonometric function or write a trigonometric function for a graph.

Exercises

1.

The graph of a sine function passing through the points (0,0), (0.75,1), (1.5,0), (2.25,-1), and (3,0)

2.

The graph of a cosine function through the points (pi/2,2), (pi,0), (3pi/2,-2), (2pi,0), and (5pi/2,2)

3.

Amplitude: \(2\)

Period: \(\dfrac{2\pi}{3}\)

Phase Shift: \(\dfrac{3\pi}{4}\)

Vertical Shift: \(-5\)

4.

\(y = 3 \cos\left(2x+\dfrac{\pi}{2}\right)\)
